The Localization of the Global Covid-19 Recovery Plan in Nigeria

We need to work together to win the fight against COVID-19!

“If this pandemic has taught us one thing, it’s that, it is only by going together that we can win this fight against COVID-19. To win together, we must be our brother’s keeper”.

This is the core assertion that our Vice-Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede made at the recent interview on Arise TV, where he appeared with Michael Sheldrick, Global Citizen’s Chief Policy, Impact and Government Relations Officer to talk about the Global Citizen, the Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) and the quest to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF) is the brainchild of a partnership between the Global Citizen, an international advocacy organization, and the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

We are on a mission to vaccinate one million Nigerians by 2022, and proud to partner with Global Citizen to raise awareness at #GlobalCitizenLive, which will hold on the 25th of September.

The event aims to unite people in different parts of the world to demand action on global issues such as the need to increase COVID-19 vaccinations. It will feature performances by Femi Kuti, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Made Kuti, and more.

At the Global Citizen Live event, we are saying to world leaders that, “you are your own brother’s keeper, it can’t end with you and just your people. Africa needs you; Nigeria needs you. You’ve got more than enough for yourselves, it’s time for you to extend that surplus to the rest of the world.”
